Previously Licensed in Alberta

Working or accepting employment as a LPN without having a valid Practice Permit from the College of Licensed Practical Nurses is not permitted and a contravention of the Health Professions Act of Alberta.

To become registered in Alberta as a Licensed Practical Nurse, please contact the following individuals:

If you were PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED AS A PRACTICAL NURSE IN ALBERTA WITHIN THE PAST 4 YEARS AND have a MINIMUM OF 500 LPN HOURS WITHIN THE PAST 4 YEARS, contact Theresa Forest in the Registration Department at tforest@clpna.com or (780) 484-8886.

If you were previously registered as a Practical Nurse in Alberta, and have ZERO (0) LPN HOURS WITHIN THE PAST 4 YEARS, contact Ursula Rios in the Registration Department at urios@clpna.com or (780) 484-8886.

If you were PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED IN ALBERTA MORE THAN 4 YEARS AGO, contact Giane in the Registration Department at gescuadro@clpna.com or (780) 484-8886.

*PLEASE NOTE: Applicants with zero (0) LPN hours in the previous 4-10 years will be referred to the Practical Nurse Refresher program. If you have not practiced as an LPN in over 10 years, you are no longer eligible to be referred to the Practical Nurse Refresher Program and you will need to take the basic Practical Nurse program again.
