The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta is a professional regulatory organization that exists to protect the public by ensuring its regulated members, Licensed Practical Nurses, are competent to meet the standards of nursing practice set by the College. The Health Professions Act grants the CLPNA the authority to set standards for the education and practice of its members with an obligation to protect and serve the public interest. The Health Professions Act also states that each health profession establish practice standards and a code of ethics. These standards are consistent with the vision and mission of the CLPNA.
