Bringing LPNs to Full Scope of Practice: A Toolkit for Continuing Care Leaders

The information in the Long Term Care Toolkit is the result of applied research and is designed to assist you as continuing care leaders in moving LPNs to full scope of practice. It contains useful tools (websites, reports, fact sheets and guides) gleaned from interviews with Alberta continuing care leaders, the literature, and the internet. This information supplements the extensive body of knowledge on staffing skill mix and the institutional procedures and processes you already use, for example strategic planning.

Behind each of the toolbox drawers there is a set of questions that guide you to the tools/processes. The Toolkit has been set up so you can efficiently navigate the drawers, accessing those tools that apply to your particular situation.
