Starting October 1, most Licensed Practical Nurses registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) will renew their registration for an Active Practice Permit for the 2015 calendar year.
The CLPNA strongly encourages members to renew as early as possible to receive the lowest fees and quickest customer service.
Renew early and win $350
Active members who renew before November 1 will be automatically entered into the “Ready, Click, Win!” Contest to win back their Active Registration Renewal Fee of $350. To be eligible, members must submit a completed 2015 Registration Renewal application for an Active Practice Permit by November 1. The winner will be selected by random draw and their name will be publicly announced in early November.
Practicing without a current Practice Permit is illegal
Only individuals with a valid CLPNA Practice Permit (Active/Limited/Temporary/Conditional) are authorized to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Alberta or use the title “LPN”, as per s43 of the Health Professions Act.
To validate the current and future registration status of a LPN, specialties or conditions, anyone can search CLPNA’s Public Registry of LPNs by name or registration number.
