2100 LPNs verify Learning Plans in annual CCP Validation

CCPV logoMany LPNs requested that the CLPNA’s Continuing Competency Program Validation (CCPV) begin earlier and before summer. So, this year CCPV launched May 4 with approximately 20% of eligible members randomly selected to participate.

Participants are required to validate their Learning Plans from Registration Renewal applications for the previous two years (2013 and 2014). Proof of learning may also be requested. Webinars, an instruction guide, online Q&A’s, and phone support is provided.

Participants are notified by email and mail. They can also look for the “CCP Validation” tab visible on their Member Profile on myCLPNA.com.

CLPNA recommends LPNs consistently track their continuing education using a Record of Professional Activities (PDF) or other organized method.

Any learning that enhances nursing practice is applicable for the Continuing Competency Program, anything from completing a certificate course, reading a best practice article, or researching online.

Participation in Continuing Competency Program Validation (CCPV) is a mandatory part of registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) according to the Health Professions Act (HPA), Licensed Practical Nurse Alberta Regulation 2003.
