Recruiting for Jurisprudence Exam Committee


To assist in the maintenance and development of our Jurisprudence Examination, the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta is recruiting volunteers for a Jurisprudence Exam Committee.

The Jurisprudence Examination is a multiple-choice, open-book exam designed by the CLPNA to help ensure Licensed Practical Nurses in Alberta have the necessary knowledge to practice nursing safely within the legislative framework that exists in Alberta and Canada and understand their professional role and responsibilities. Successful completion of Exam is a registration requirement for select Applicants.

RELATED – Jurisprudence Exam

The Jurisprudence Exam Committee will write and review exam questions, provide input on exam forms and make suggestions to the Registrar in regards to policy.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of or interest in learning about exam development
  • Knowledge of or a desire to learn more about practical nurse legislation
  • Active Registration with the CLPNA
  • Above-average computer skills
  • Available to attend a two-day meeting on March 3-4 in Edmonton

The Jurisprudence Exam Committee will be selected to include members from various demographics and practice areas including, but not limited to, new graduates, educators, administrators, acute and long term care, and rural and urban centres.
