The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta is responsible under the Health Professions Act for protecting the public from unethical, unskilled, and unsafe nursing practice. Under this authority, some complaints of unprofessional conduct result in a formal Hearing before a Hearing Tribunal, consisting of LPNs appointed by Council and public members appointed by government. This is the notice of such a Hearing.

TAKE NOTICE that a Hearing Tribunal of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta will meet at the offices of the Alberta Dental Association and College, 3rd Floor – 7609 109 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta on, May 17, 2019 at the hour of 9:00 am to enquire into or ascertain the allegations of unprofessional conduct as defined in section l(l)(pp)(i), (ii) and (xii) of the Health Professions Act. All of which is contrary to the provisions of the Health Professions Act, R.S.A. 2000, c. H-7 as amended or the regulations, by-laws, Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics enacted pursuant thereto, constituting unprofessional conduct.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE THAT, pursuant to section 72(1) of the Health Professions Act you are required to attend at the same time and place in person and to produce any material books, documents or things relating to the said investigation. You may be compelled to testify and you are entitled to be represented by counsel. In the event that you do not attend at the same time and place, the Hearing Tribunal may proceed in your absence.
In accordance with s 78 of the Health Professions Act, the Hearing will be open to the public unless the Hearing Tribunal accepts a motion or application to close the Hearing.
