“She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails.” ― Elizabeth Edwards
To all licensed practical nurses, we take a moment to extend our heartfelt appreciation for you during these unprecedented times.
While Canadians stay in, many of you step out into increased risk to provide care and comfort.
Those opening their doors and clapping their support mean it, and we join them. Thank you for powerfully supporting your patients and clients and their families, and ably assisting your teammates. All Albertans are benefiting from your expertise in hands-on nursing care, management, administration, and research.
Our lives have never been so disrupted. As we face this pandemic, your resilience in light of unexpected challenges in the workplace and on the home front is admirable. We know you are also concerned for your own loved ones and those in your community. This increased compassion that flows out also needs to flow in. So, be kind to yourself as you are kind to others.
It may seem there is a flood of new COVID-19 recommendations every day. The CLPNA wants to ensure you have the most current guidance for your practice. As we receive recommendations from Alberta Health, our website, documents and staff are immediately updated to have answers for your questions. We hope you visit www.clpna.com often, and feel free to contact us when needed.
