Membership Policy: Refresher Program

The Licensed Practical Nurses Profession Regulation (LPN Regulation) outlines requirements for registration in Alberta. One of the ways an applicant may be eligible for registration is after successfully completing an Approved Refresher Program.

Practical nurse refresher programs support a return to practice for those previously registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) but who are no longer eligible for active registration.

The Membership Policy: Refresher Program describes the requirements and process of applying to a refresher program to register as an LPN in Alberta.

This policy outlines:

  • eligibility requirements for a refresher program
  • how to apply for a refresher program
  • how to register with the CLPNA after completing a refresher program.
