Some people who have had COVID-19, whether they have needed hospitalization or not, continue to experience symptoms, including fatigue, respiratory, and neurological symptoms. These long-lasting symptoms have been named “Long COVID” and are being closely studied in Alberta, and around the world.
Since April 2020, AHS has been addressing the challenge of COVID-19 rehabilitation and recovery through several focused Task Forces across the province. The goal has been to create a coordinated provincial approach to rehabilitation, medical intervention, and recovery for those experiencing Long COVID.
