Video: Long COVID: Supporting Patient Care
Some people who have had COVID-19, whether they have needed hospitalization or not, continue to struggle with fatigue, “brain fog”, headaches, and other persistent neurological and respiratory symptoms. These long-lasting symptoms have been named “Long COVID” and are being closely studied in Alberta, and around the world.
Alberta Health Services (AHS) has created several focused Task Forces to address the challenges of COVID-19 rehabilitation and recovery. The goal has been to create a coordinated provincial approach to rehabilitation, medical intervention, and recovery for those experiencing Long COVID.
Join AHS experts, Isabel Henderson and Chris Burnie, along with Philip Robichaud, an AHS Patient and Family Advisor and key member of the AHS Post COVID Task Force for this video presentation where you can:
- Develop a stronger understanding of the condition and prevalence of Long COVID
- Hear directly from a patient about his experience with Long COVID
- Learn about resources that are available to support healthcare practitioners and Long COVID patients/families
