Webinar: Eye Health – Providing a Lens for LPNs (Nov 22)

LPNs must consistently maintain and enhance their competence in nursing practice and be aware of strengths and areas in need of improvement. Continuing competence is essential in meeting the demands of evolving practice environments and patient needs.

Join Dr. Salma Kiani, OD, as she walks you through what you need to know about eye health at every stage of life, how to refer and find an optometrist, and how simple day-to-day steps can contribute to lifelong eye health and promote patient health and wellness.

Regardless of age, eye health and vision problems can impact quality of life. Learn what to watch for as you support patients and how early identification can reduce the risk impact and increase quality patient outcomes.

Learning objectives include:

  • Understanding the role and services provided by the Optometrist
  • Identifying common vision issues which contribute to a fall or risk for falling
  • Understanding eye disease and the co-management of other illnesses/conditions
  • Vision care/Fall prevention strategies to promote patient safety
  • Resources and referrals to appropriate vision care health professionals
