Updated Policy: English Language Proficiency Standard

The passing scores for the Canadian English Language Benchmark Assessment for Nurses (CELBAN) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) have been updated in the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta’s English Language Proficiency Standard Policy.
These changes are the result of a project undertaken by the Canadian Nurse Regulators Collaborative to revise the language proficiency requirements in collaboration with the CLPNA and nursing regulators across the country. The following passing scores are effective immediately:
