Alberta HCA Registration Exam

Beginning February 2, 2026, new graduates from Alberta HCA programs and certain other applicant groups will be required to successfully complete the Alberta HCA Registration Examination (AHRE) in order to move to the General register of the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). HCAs currently on the Alberta HCA Directory will not need to retake the Exam if they have already successfully completed it.
