English Language Requirements

All applicants must demonstrate proof of meeting the English language requirements. More information about this can be found in the Meeting the English Language Requirements policy.

You can meet the English language requirement in one of the following ways:
Proof of completing at least three consecutive years of full-time study in English at a recognized Canadian high school or an approved secondary school abroad.
Proof of completing a college-level English course (grade 9 equivalent or higher) with a minimum grade of C.
Show proof that you are, or were within the last two years, registered as an HCA in another Canadian province that checks English skills.
Provide a passing test result from an approved English language test as listed in the Meeting the English Language Requirements policy
Provide proof that you have worked with clients in English in Canada within the past two years, confirmed by a healthcare professional or employer
Provide a letter from your current or most recent employer confirming that English is the main language you use at work.

Applications for registration are not considered complete and ready for assessment until the language requirement has been met.
