Understanding HCA Professional Regulation Module

The Understanding HCA Professional Regulation module will support your understanding of the laws, regulations, bylaws, and practice standards that govern the HCA profession in Alberta.

This interactive module was developed by the CLHA. Successful completion of the module is a registration requirement for select applicants.

The CLHA encourages all HCAs to take the module as part of their own continuing competency.

How Do You Access the Module?

For Applicants
For Members

As part of the registration process, applicants who are assessed to complete the Understanding HCA Professional Regulation module will have access to the module through their MyCLHA account. Follow the below instructions:

  1. Click on MyCLHA (also on the top right corner of this screen).
  2. Login using your CLHA username and password.
  3. Once logged in, select the “Learning Modules” link in the menu on the left-hand side.
  4. Select the studywithclha.com link.
  5. Select Home at the top left of the screen.
  6. Select the link to view the HCA learning modules.
  7. Scroll down to view all modules.
  8. Click on the Understanding HCA Professional Regulation module.
  9. Select “Enroll me” to open the module.

 

HCAs with a current Active, Transitional, or Provisional registration practice permit may take the Understanding HCA Professional Regulation module at any time. Follow the below instructions:

  1. Click on MyCLHA (also on the top right corner of this screen).
  2. Login using your CLHA username and password.
  3. Once logged in, select the “Learning Modules” link in the menu on the left-hand side.
  4. Select the studywithclha.com link.
  5. Select Home at the top left of the screen.
  6. Select the link to view the HCA learning modules.
  7. Scroll down to view all modules.
  8. Click on the Understanding HCA Professional Regulation module.
  9. Select “Enroll me” to open the module.

Applicants and registrants can expect these standards when interacting with the Registration Department at the CLHA.

  • Emails will be returned within three business days.
  • Applications received with payment will be reviewed within five business days.
  • Completed applications will be processed with a decision letter within ten business days.
  • Invoices for approved applications will be available when the decision letter is issued.
  • A practice permit will be issued immediately upon receipt of the final invoice payment.
