Update from the most recent CLPNA Council meeting
The Council of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) is responsible for the oversight of the organization and for guiding our strategic direction. The Council consists of 50% regulated members and 50% public members.
The Council held its quarterly meeting on March 6 and 7. A summary of key activities is below.
Ownership Linkage Activities
To inform strategic direction and decision-making, the Council engages in work to support better understanding of the populations that LPNs serve and the role of a regulator in an evolving healthcare system. At this meeting, Council members received a presentation related to Recovery Alberta and another on the federal and provincial policy landscape.
Approval of Financials and Annual Report
An annual audit of the CLPNA’s finances was presented to and approved by the Council. Full financials can be viewed in the CLPNA’s 2024 Annual Report.
The 2024 Annual Report was also approved. This document includes statistics as well as a strategic update. It is a regulatory requirement under the Health Professions Act.
