Update from the most recent CLPNA Council meeting
Updated Code of Ethics Approved
The updated Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in Canada has been approved by the CLPNA Council. LPNs use the Code of Ethics together with professional standards, employer policies, and regulatory and legislative requirements to guide their practice and behaviour.
Governance Committee Established
The Council established a standing Governance Committee to work in advance on Council Policy reviews. This committee will lessen the time constraints on the Council as a whole.
Change to Bylaws
The Council approved a Bylaw change that will end Student Memberships as of January 1, 2025. Current holders of student membership will be grandfathered until their current membership expires.
Dismissal Review Fee Lowered
The Council approved lowering the fee for a review of a dismissed complaint from $300 to $100. The CLPNA now better aligns with other jurisdictions.
