Council Connections: November 2024
The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) is pleased to welcome Irene Pfeiffer and William Gaudette as public members of the Council.
Irene Pfeiffer has extensive experience on boards of directors, including previously serving as President of the Alberta College of Pharmacy and serving on the boards of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, the Health Quality Council of Alberta, and STARS Air Ambulance. Prior to her participation on boards, Ms. Pfeiffer was employed in the oil industry at the senior management level in human resources, workplace diversity/employment equity, and change management. Irene is a former executive in residence for the Banff Centre and was named one of Alberta’s 50 most influential people by Venture magazine. She also received the Paul Harris Rotary Award in recognition of her community participation. Ms. Pfeiffer holds an honorary degree from SAIT and is a member of the Order of Canada and a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee medal.
William (Bill) Gaudette holds Bachelor of Laws and Master of Education degrees from the University of Calgary as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University, Montreal. His governance experience includes Chief Executive Officer, Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories; President and Chair, Canadian Mental Health Association (both provincial and national boards); and a founding member and Vice-Chair, Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health. Bill also served as vice-chair, Provincial Mental Health Board (Alberta); Chair, Chinook Educational Consortium; and faculty representative to the Academic Council, Athabasca University.
