Council Connections: September 2024

The CLPNA is pleased to welcome Jithu James and Kristan Reynolds as new regulated members of the Council.

 

Jithu James, LPN

Jithu James has been an LPN for over 10 years, serving as a healthcare executive practicing transformational leadership in the continuing care sector. He is recognized for his expertise in establishing high performing, cross-functional teams, optimizing human and financial resources and performance measurement. He truly believes that leaders should lead from their heart and always demonstrate example to their followers.  He is currently the Director of Service Excellence with Bethany Care Society where he develops and delivers programs embedding organizational standards for service excellence.

Jithu has his Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University and is a Certified Health Executive with the CCHL. Jithu has also served as Executive Director at Christenson Communities Homes in Red Deer and Rocky Mountain House and as Manager of Homes Care-Support Living, and Intensive Home Care with Alberta Health Services where he managed day-to-day operational duties of a home care office, including mentoring and developing staff. Jithu served as a member and Chair of CLPNA’s Competency Committee from 2018 to 2023.

 

Kristan Reynolds, LPN

Kristan Reynolds joins the CLPNA Council with over 13 years of nursing experience. In her current role as the Regional Director of Operations – Southern Alberta for CBI Health, Kristan ensures that healthcare services within the region meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring clinical practices, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and addressing any deficiencies or non-compliance issues.

Kristan has experience in strategic planning, financial management, leadership, and human resources. She has practiced in many areas of nursing including medical, orthopedic surgery, in-patient rehabilitation, neurosciences and a neuro-critical care unit, hospice, and in-patient acute psychiatry. Outside of her management and supervisory duties, Kristan has also taught courses on health promotion, pathophysiology, and integrated nursing skills. She is currently working on completing her Bachelor of Health Science from Thompson Rivers University.
