New Module Series on the Care of Older Adults
Throughout 2025, the CLPNA will release a series of modules on the care of older adults. The modules will support LPNs in developing the knowledge needed to care for an ageing population with complex healthcare needs.
There are ten modules in this series to be released throughout 2025.
- Pain Assessment (now available)
- Palliative Care
- Health Promotion
- Safety, Mobility, Continence, and Comfort Care
- Responsive Behaviours
- Ageism, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
- Leadership and Ageism
- Cognitive Impairment
- Continence and Mobility
- Understanding and Communicating with Older People
These modules provide an evidence-informed lens to support critical thinking and professional judgement and integrate knowledge of trends and issues related to the care of the older adult. They also provide nurses with the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and competence.
These modules can be used as part of LPNs’ learning plans within the Continuing Competence Program.
