The CLPNA is responsible for reviewing education programs so that graduates have the necessary knowledge, skills, behaviours, attitudes, and judgment to competently engage in professional nursing practice. The CLPNA’s Council approves education standards which PN diploma, advanced education, and refresher programs are evaluated against. This policy explains the education program approval process and outlines the review process, monitoring between review cycles, the purpose and function of site visits, and potential consequences of noncompliance.
May 2024 – This policy has been updated to reflect a new scoring methodology and minimum score programs must achieve to be recommended for full approval.
