Overview

This module brings awareness to the newly updated Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nursess. The Code of Ethics articulates the ethical values and responsibilities that LPNs uphold and are accountable to. It guides LPNs’ ethical reflections and decision-making across all areas of practice and informs the public about the ethical values and responsibilities of the LPN profession.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the ethical values and responsibilities that LPNs uphold and are accountable to.
  • Understand the importance of critical thinking and inquiry, and self-reflection.
  • Understand the impact of personal values, beliefs, and assumptions in the provision of safe and ethical care.

Identify and understand the six (6) fundamental principles that govern LPN Practice and inform the LPN’s professional identity.
