The CLPNA Welcomes New Executive Officer

Doug Lemermeyer

The CLPNA is pleased to welcome Doug Lemermeyer as the new Executive Officer, Strategy & Corporate Governance effective May 2, 2024. Doug is an accomplished public servant and governance professional with expertise in public sector governance, engagement, and leadership.

With over 17 years with the Government of Alberta, Doug was drawn to roles that included engaging with diverse stakeholders, developing and implementing legislation and regulations to support policy directions, and formulating alternative solutions for dealing with emerging issues. Notably, he led the 2020 renewal of the Government of Alberta’s Public Agency Governance Policy and accompanying operational policy guides, providing training and support to public agencies and responsible ministries.

As Executive Officer, Doug’s portfolio will include governance; regulatory affairs and government relations; strategic planning; risk management; performance measurement and reporting; and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization.

Doug has a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Arts with a focus on Governance, Law, and Management and a certificate in Public Administration from Athabasca University as well as the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) accreditation with the International Coach Federation, which has added a valuable dimension to his governance and leadership practices.
