Lunches, dinners, teas… these events and more will soon receive Special Event Kits from the CLPNA to celebrate National Nursing Week, May 12-18, 2014. The CLPNA is accepting orders for the Kits until April 11.
Special Event Kits contain LPN-branded items to be used as door-prizes such as lip balms, hand sanitizer, glass cleaning clothes, lanyards, flashlights, sewing kits, pens, and lunch bags.

Kits are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Product type and number of items in each Kit depends on the number of expected attendees and number of requests received by CLPNA. There is no guarantee of receiving one (1) item per event attendee.
Special Event Kits can be ordered until April 11 by fax or email using the Special Event Kit Request Form.
National Nursing Week is an opportunity for nurses, their employers and the public to reflect and celebrate the contributions of the nursing profession.
In 2013, over 3000 Licensed Practical Nurses in 110 Alberta healthcare facilities participated in National Nursing Week events.
In 1971, the International Council of Nurses designated May 12 (Florence Nightingale’s birthday) as International Nurses Day.
In 1985, in recognition of the dedication and achievements of the nursing profession, Canada’s Minister of Health proclaimed the second week of May as National Nursing Week.
