CLPNA Committees looking for a few good LPNs

Licensed Practical Nurses interested in stepping up their career are invited to volunteer for Committee involvement at the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) for the 2020-2021 term.

Newcomers to these working committees are oriented and fully trained. An honorarium and travel expenses are paid for committee work. Apply with a resume by October 29.

COMPLAINT REVIEW COMMITTEE

The Complaint Review Committee is looking for a few LPNs familiar with the CLPNA’s complaints process to participate in the review of dismissed complaints to ensure procedural fairness.

This committee meets on-demand by teleconference a few times per year.

COMPETENCE COMMITTEE

The Competence Committee is looking for six LPNs to join them in, among other things, assessing the Learning Plans completed during annual Registration Renewal.

This committee meets in-person for scheduled meetings at the CLPNA office 3-4 times per year with additional video conference meetings as required.

JURISPRUDENCE COMMITTEE

The Jurisprudence Committee requires four LPNs to assist in the development of the CLPNA’s Jurisprudence Examination. One of the key committee tasks is, with the help of expert facilitators, writing multiple-choice exam questions.

This committee meets in-person for scheduled meetings at the CLPNA office 1-2 times per year with additional video conference meetings as required.
