Out of an abundance of caution, the Edmonton office of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) is practicing ‘social distancing’ and closing its doors to visitors while staying safely ‘open for business’.
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic with sustained risk of further global spread. To minimize the risk of transmission and ensure the continuity of critical services, the CLPNA is taking actions in alignment with the Alberta Government’s heighted precautionary measures of March 15 where they declared the closures of K-12 schools, universities, and child care facilities and programs.
The CLPNA remains open for business with staff available by email or by phone during regular business hours.
(UPDATE Nov. 5/20) – Staff are available to assist LPNs with Registration Renewal during office hours. Contact 780-484-8886 or email@example.com. The CLPNA’s office remains closed to visitors except by appointment.
Though the office doors will be shut, the CLPNA anticipates minimal disruption of services. The organization thanks everyone for their patience as workflow and technical changes are made. The CLPNA will continue to monitor the situation carefully and make adjustments as appropriate.
- Who do I contact if I show any symptoms of COVID-19?
In Alberta, please contact Health Link at 811 to discuss what to do personally. Ensure you follow any employer requirements.
- How do I connect with the CLPNA staff?
You can contact a CLPNA staff member during business hours via email or phone – either dialing their direct phone extension or through our main number, 1-780-484-8886. The CLPNA will continue to meet its mandate to protect the public and to provide regular business functions.
- How long will the CLPNA office be closed to the public?
The CLPNA will continue to monitor the coronavirus situation and may determine a continuation of the office closure. We will communicate any changes via our website, social media, and emails to members.
- Are we moving forward with our CLPNA Education Forum or other in-person events as planned?
We will continue to review the coronavirus situation and scheduled meetings and events on a case-by-case basis and will communicate any changes at the appropriate time.
The CLPNA appreciates our member’s and stakeholder’s flexibility during this time.
