Research teams at the Universities of Alberta and Calgary, supported by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta, are studying the effects of working through the COVID-19 pandemic on the health of Alberta’s nurses. They are recruiting for participants now to get information before the full force of the epidemic.

According to the researchers:

The COVID-19 epidemic is putting great strain on Alberta’s nurses. We want to determine what are the main sources of strain and how these relate to exposures that might result in infection. Further we want to see how much impact this has on nurses’ health both now and when the epidemic has passed.

We are approaching every Alberta nurse who may be exposed to COVID-19 inpatients, together with nurses who may be exposed to COVID-19 in outpatient or community health settings.
