Video: Duty to Report
As a healthcare provider, an LPN has a legal duty to report certain kinds of information. LPNs should be aware of the circumstances in which they are required to report as part of the healthcare team.
This presentation provides Alberta LPNs with an overview of what needs to be reported and to whom, legal obligations related to the Duty to Report, and awareness of related CLPNA documents.
The CLPNA’s Interpretive Document: Duty to Report further outlines several key areas when LPNs have an obligation to report otherwise confidential information to an appropriate authority.
