Provides an overview of the various pieces of privacy legislation in Alberta that could be applicable to an LPN. Personal information collected, used, and disclosed while providing professional services can be subject to specific legal requirements in addition to professional ethical obligations around confidentiality. LPNs must be aware of, and follow, these legal and professional requirements in their practice. LPNs are ultimately responsible for determining and understanding which legislation applies to their practice and to ensure compliance.
